Village Walk presents the 1st Boxathon and Fun day hosted by Village Walk
SKILL, TECHNIQUE, AND ABILITY ARE NOTHING WITHOUT HEART AND DEDICATION
Village Walk has announced the event of the autumn season , the “Village Walk Boxathon and Fun day”, with live entertainment and exciting activities. The first village walk Boxathon will take place on the 16th may 2009 starting from 08:00am onwards at Village Walk.
Village Walk Would now like to Invite You to enter teams/ team into our Boxathon this Saturday morning, the event is for the shining star fund. Please join Village Walk and it’s patrons. And be apart of this exciting day.
Corporate teams can consist of 3 & 6 Participants
On Boxathon day, Xtreme Fitness will provide fitness instructors to conduct a series of power-boxing sessions hosted in the open parking lot at The Village Walk. Corporate companies will be targeted to enter teams with a minimum of 3 members per team. The teams must consist of a minimum of 3 participants i.e. in a team of 3, each person in the team would take part for an hour and then rotate with the next team member. Teams may consist of more e.g. team of 6 would then have 2 participants per hour, and so on. A registration fee of R60 per participant will be charged per half hour . The proceeds will be donated to our chosen charity. Participants can register at the registration point on the morning from 08:00am the Boxathon will commence from 09:00 to 12:00 on the day in the Maude street parking lot.
The concept of this exciting Boxathon is to create a work out environment for all the health orientated community members with in and around Sandton, to enjoy a day of shadow boxing, exciting live entertainment and have the opportunity to make their personal donation to the shining Stars.
Shining Stars is a non-profit organization which was founded by Myself Nick Albasini, Dorian Cabral of Xtreme Fitness. Our aim is to feed over 400 orphans and vulnerable children from mainly Diepsloot Ext 12, Lion Park and Zevefontein on a monthly basis. We have chosen Witkoppen Health and Wellness Centre as our major beneficiary. The WHWC is a multifaceted health and welfare service provider that caters for the poorest and most vulnerable people, whether they can afford it or not. They have specialised clinics which include the following services: Chronic (such as diabetes and hypertension),Antenatal, Paediatric/Well Baby, Mental Health, Family Planning and Well Woman, TB. Not only will we use them as the base of our Shining stars programme, but other developments and incentives will arise. These range from raising money from events such as the first ever Boxathon at Village Walk, and corporate sponsorships. These funds will be used to help and assist in building new health and wellness facilities at WHWC.
I know many of you, like myself; have a need and a want in life to help children have a better life and a possible happy future. You can do this by contributing only R160.00 per month to feed a child. Yes, that is all it costs!
